Body Heat

That mid-night breeze
  Was coasting through
As the air settled from the
  Humid day behind us
We made conversation through
     Six hours of memories
And half as many cases of beer
Toasted to those we miss
   Two bottles of Sherry worth

The preposition of the pool
Arose and was met at demand
The water was freezing
     We were drunk
But the thought of you and I
In less clothes then we begun
Surrounded by water
Gave us all the reasons we needed

It seemed as though the pool
   Was a confined space
  We ignored the awaiting openness
Not leaving one another’s arms
   Invading one another’s
Physical Space
  Radiating heat
Skin to Skin
   Lips to Lips

I was cold
   You were close
Heaven just froze over
