teardrops and sunshine
tattered, torn and beaten
lies this dear girls heart
left hidden in a corner
where is was torn apart
he was strong enough to break it,
this soldier of a man
but far to weak to mend it
too weak to hold her hand
he told her that he loved her
he loved her sunny ways
he mentioned that her golden smile
brightened up his days
and when he grew too scared to love
afraid to give his all
he turned his back upon her
and let the teardrops fall
she walks alone in sunshine
despite her inner bruise
and she will find a new love
that she will never lose.
