I Love You This Way

January 9, 2001

How I long to have you in my grasp. My nails will dig deep into your skin, to keep a firm grip. When the sunsets to the west I thought of you and about the time you asked me what I like about you. I had no answer then, didn't know what to tell you again. But here I am not to disappoint you again.

Where do I start, how do I end? How do I make sure I don't miss a thing?  In a fairy tale land I believe it starts with "Once upon a time," and ends with "Happily ever after." But according life, this is no Disney story. So I'll be original but not plain, to explain in detail "why I love you this way?"

Has there ever been such a flower? Such a beautiful thing, that grows when you water it with love. Are you just a star among others? You must be the sun, cause you warm me with kisses and brighten me with smiles. Do I laugh without giggles when your jokes are around? Fall on the floor and roll all about. Have you healed all the cracks that where scattered around? My heart pumps stronger than ever before, never has my heart mended this quick before. Did you speak all those words and not mean a one? Cause their lock in my heart just popping throughout. Does your kindness throw me, outstanding the crowd? Just give me a penny for every generosity you give out. I’ll be a multimillionaire by the time the sunrises out of its hide. When our lips meet for the first time, can I not say that I love you? Exhale for the very first time, and fly to cloud 9. Does my storybook ending, begin just now? I say an ending is not what we are about, but us we will never be without.

This is only the first of the many reasons why I love you this way.
