I will fight for my country land,
Though with sorrow I leave my loved ones at home.
I will march for the wonderful band,
If it leads me to my dome.

I will be noble in my deeds,
While to the front I am bound to stand,
And witness the scene of many needs.
I will fight for my country land.

To and fro we march and drill daily,
The duties of it all I can withstand,
Some are sad, while others sing gaily,
We are fighting for our country land.

Friends and loved ones that I used to cherish,
Are left behind to come at a demand.
Still we who are fighting seem about to perish,
Though I will fight for my country land.

I will fight for my country land.
My innocent blood will I shed.
It costs much to cross the strand,
And leave a noble name when dead.
