My tears fall, like rain from the heavens, and you're the God that put them in my eyes. Time after time and try after try, the results are always the same with you. Hands that carassed my face now slap it soundly. Fingers that once touched me are now fists. I lay on the ground, that was once hallowed and realize how you're like it now, hard, frozen, cold. My eyes are swollen, but my vision clear. Survival of the fittest? Only the strong survive. Why have I allowed myself the weakness of loving you? Oh, you didn't mean it, did you? Those words, those blows? All of it because you "loved" me? You only loved yourself and the false sense of power that surged through you veins. Now, though, now, baby, My vision is clear. I see you and my demons for what they are. If I let this false prophet keep feeding my head, I will slowly dissolve and fade to nothing. But though my lips bleed from your last kiss, and my eyes are bloodshot, my vision is clear. And I can see through you. |
