Somebody lost a wedding ring at Walmart tonight. I know, because I heard it on the police scanner. It's my favorite form of free entertainment - must be a small town Southern thing, because people here laugh about it. Eight years ago tonight, I found a wedding ring. It was stormy and ice cold but you saw an evening rainbow, right over the church. You slid the ring on my finger with the confidence that was solid in my eyes. We were so sure. I hope that ring at Walmart is recovered - should it be as special as mine, because we are still ...so sure. |
