danced to the Richard Simmons disco video until I could no longer stomach the sad choreography and Richard's ridiculous commentary danced to a couple of Outkast songs until I was sweating took a bath washed it all away not thinking nasty thoughts drove to Sea Rim on a whim listened to my favorite Bob Dylan songs on the way smiled at the sky felt powerful for a few seconds parked the car and walked toward the ocean said hello took off my shoes walked into the meekly nibbling waves thought of all the possibility all that is before me all that is behind me thought of you nothing new, same old regret and longing and refusal to accept the fact that we are over. |
