Boy, walking

I saw this boy today
[he was nothing
special; white
shirt, blue jeans,
red bag]

he was walking
[nonchalantly,
near the
Gangaramaya
temple]

but his slow stride
reminded me
so much of you
that I wanted to
reach out –

and open the door
of the vehicle
[hard enough and close
enough to hit him
wherever it hurts]
